Living Grace

In a few months it’ll be our 3rd year Anniversary! Time to Celebrate! Living Grace is EvFree’s mental health peer support group, and it is going strong. We meet on Saturday mornings from 10:30am-12pm in North Campus 120. A group of five to 13 of us travel through a faith-based curriculum created by Grace Alliance and Baylor University.

The sessions run 16 weeks, but you can join at any time, as each lesson is self-sustaining.  Our lessons cover topics such as Identity, Whole-Health Renewal, It’s Not Your Fault, and speak to the mission of relieving suffering, revealing Christ, and restoring lives. Living Grace is for anyone suffering from anxiety to depression and from bipolar to schizophrenia.

The group welcomes all of these mental health warriors, male or female, whether you’re in your 20s or in your 70s.   Participants feel spiritually refreshed and encouraged after coming.

Here is what participants of Living Grace have said about the benefits of the group:

“The material resonates with the difficulties I face. It gives me some hope through the dark days.”

“A good interpretation of Scripture and how it pertains to mental illness.”

“A loving and non-judgmental support group.”

“I see what others are going through and see that I’m not the only one with issues. I gain a different perspective.”

“I have the freedom to share without judgment and I also can help others help themselves.”

“I love the Living Grace book as it has helped me so much although I have just been to three meetings.”

“There is a sense of community and a relaxed feeling.”

“For the first time in my whole life I have realized that I am not bipolar, I have bipolar.”

We welcome anyone with a mental health issue to become a member of our group, or, if you want to have a meaningful ministry on the front lines of making a difference, become a facilitator. We will train you to help lead the small groups and sessions (no teaching skills necessary).
