Round Robin Playoffs

Each division is seeded 1-8 after the 8 regular season games. The tiebreakers in determining seeding for the division stage:

1. Head-to-head
2. League record (all games except interdivision match-ups)
3. Better record vs. highest ranked team in your league, if still tied, look to second highest ranked team, etc.; e.g. Team A and Team B tied for third place with 4-3-1 records, the teams tied in their head-to-head game, and both lost to the 1st place team in their league. Team A beat the 2nd place team while Team B lost to that team. Team A would be ranked #3 and Team B would be ranked #4).
4. Lowest number of runs allowed in regular season
5. Coin flip

Division stage (8/22-9/12): division winners (4) advance to upper championship bracket played on 9/19; division runners-up (4) advance to lower championship bracket played on 9/19.

I'm going to let the umpires know that the game played in weeks 9-11 should not end in a tie as they are playoff games. The tiebreakers for advancement to the championship brackets are:

1. Head-to-head in division stage
2. Better overall record (regular season plus round robin playoffs)
3. Head-to-head in both league and division stages (if applicable)
4. Sort 16 teams by overall record through league and division stages. Then determine who has the better record vs. highest ranked team in league, if still tied, look to second highest ranked team, etc.; e.g. Team A and Team B tied for division lead with 2-0-1 records, the teams tied in their head-to-head division game, but did not face each other during the regular season. Both lost to the highest ranked team out of the 16. Team A beat the 2nd place team while Team B lost to that team. Team A would win the division and Team B would be the runner-up.

For both the upper and lower championship playoffs, the 4 teams will be seeded 1-4 based on regular season plus round robin playoff records for purposes of determining who will be the home team in both the semifinals and finals (semifinals will pit LG vs. WM and MM vs. DS regardless of whether that is the 1 seed vs. 4 seed or 1 seed vs. 2 seed).

Tiebreakers to determine home team in upper and lower championship bracket playoffs:

1. Head-to-head
2. Record vs. other two semifinalists
3. Record vs. other two semifinalists plus four semifinalists in other bracket (either upper or lower)
4. Sort 16 teams by overall record through league and division stages. Then determine who has the better record vs. highest ranked team in league, if still tied, look to second highest ranked team, etc.; e.g. Team A and Team B have 9-2 records, but did not face each other during the regular season. Both had 1-1 records vs. the other two semifinalists, but Team A was 5-1 vs. the other two semifinalists plus the four semifinalists in the lower playoffs while Team B was 4-2. Team A would be the home team and Team B would be the visiting team.
