Remarriage/Stepfamily Development Workshop

Syllabus
Many of the dynamics of a remarriage are unique and this workshop is open to couples already remarried or considering remarriage. Topics include blending families, step-parenting, couple expectations, co-parenting, communication, conflict resolution, step-parent/step-child development, finances (#2 reason for step-family breakup), and more. Developed and led by several step-families, this workshop is unique in Southern California. Cost does not include optional personality/ relational assessments. Nancy Landrum is a nationally recognized stepfamily expert who first learned stepfamily skills in the crucible of her own stepfamily and has gone on to develop stepfamily curricula that has brought many stepfamilies from conflict to hope and then peace. This workshop is an active blend of information, testimonies, games, exercises and group discussion. Workbooks included.

Trying to be a loving, nurturing parent while struggling with finances,
work, children’s activities, and the need for a social life is enough
to drive even the most energetic parent to the edge of frenzy. This class
will offer practical advice and counsel to navigate the challenging waters
of single parenting.
You’ll discover how to:
- Talk with your children about your love, the absence of the other
parent, and more
- Balance your needs with the needs of your children
- Deal with financial changes
- Work with the other parent for consistency in values and discipline
- Handle visitation rights, child support, and remarriage issues
Overflowing with the truth of God’s love and grace, the Successful
Single Parenting classes will provide tools to help you raise healthy,
confident children in a supportive and loving family atmosphere.
The “Successful Single Parenting” book authored by Pastor
Gary will be the basis of the class. And, all parents will receive a book
as a special gift. So, come and learn how to avoid the landmines of single
parenting and what to expect at each age and stage of your children’s
development.
