Connecting Link...
Like never before, we live in a connected world. Thanks to marvelous technology like e-mail, blogs and instant messaging, we can connect with anyone in the world—within seconds. Indeed, technology has made instant connection an integral part of everyday life.
But, are we really connected? The reality all too often is that deep in our hearts we feel disconnected. Due to past or present neglect, abandonment or abuse, we may not be able to risk deep connection or maintain safe relationships. We may not trust those around us. We may feel no one—not even God—is there for us. Consequently, there are feelings of isolation, loneliness and depression, perhaps even anger or rage.
God has made each of us—without exception—to connect deeply with Him, with others and with ourselves, to both know and be known without shame or fear of rejection. Life is meaningful and joyful when we experience this kind of connection in our relationships.
The Connecting Link ministry is both a class and a support group. In it, you will learn how relationships are damaged (often in childhood), how the deepest injuries can be healed, how distorted views of yourself and of God can be repaired. You will learn how to sort out the lies and realize your value to God. In short, you will learn the possibilities of true connection, possibilities that have nothing to do with your computer, BlackBerry or cell phone.
Jenny Potzler has taught this class for 20 years. She is a wife and mother of three boys. She has walked through her own healing process. She has practiced for more than 15 years in Fullerton as a professional Marriage and Family Therapist. She has worked extensively with women who’ve been emotionally hurt or damaged. She draws upon all of these experiences—and most importantly upon God’s Word—to inspire and communicate with women in a compassionate and insightful way.
All it takes is a phone call to receive more information on the class or to get started on your way to truly meaningful connection in your life.
